New rides, Disney World attractions coming to Central Florida

An article about what is coming this year to the Disney World attractions:  that is why this blog was born.  Sometimes, I get carried away commenting on various Disney World related articles and I forget that I started this to capture as much information as possible regarding what was happening at all of the attractions.  Here’s an article that gives us some detail on this critical component of Disney….

Most Central Florida theme parks are adding rides and attractions this year. Individually they won’t have the heft of Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter or a whole new park dedicated to Lego bricks. Even Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland expansion,

If 2010 was the year of Harry Potter and 2011 the year of Legos, then 2012 is the year of Dumbo and minions, of turtles and Goofy, of castles, parades, bowling lanes, miniature and water — water slides, a water show, water spouts, a new water park, and a rainforest.

The highlights: The first attractions in the Fantasyland expansion, a ride and a light-and-water show at Universal Studios, a giant bowling alley at Downtown Disney, 36 holes of miniature golf at Universal CityWalk, a new turtle theater and exhibit at SeaWorld, and the rehabilitation of the old Cypress Gardens water park at Legoland
Disney World attractions remain my very favorite thing to blog about, so I’ll just say that not only do I enjoy hearing what is good with Disney World and its new attractions, but I also enjoy finding out what is coming to any theme park in Central Florida, be it Sea World or Universal.  Every addition makes life better for the consumer, and I continue to believe that we, as consumers, are the ultimate benefactors when it comes to making the theme parks better.  Now, if I could just find a way to fit them in every person’s budget!

Paxinos woman works ways of Walt Disney World Attractions

Here is an excellent article on how a Paxinos young lady found a way to work the wonderful world of Disney World attractions.  A very good perspective can be gained on why the parks and attractions are so successful when you look at the engagement built between employee and employers.  This was not a job to KristaLyn, but a love and a job to report to work to be with her peers.  It is that joy which transcends the drudgery of work and makes the time for guests truly special.  Read on…

By Rob Wheary (Staff Writer rob_w@newsitem.com) submitted photos ABOVE: KristaLyn Vetovich, left, 21, of Paxinos, poses in front of the World of Disney at Walt Disney World’s Downtown Disney complex in Orlando, Fla. Vetovich worked at the store from

After being accepted for the program and participating in another survey, she found herself assigned to the merchandising department at “WOD.” She learned that working there was more than just a “job,” and her status was far more than simply an “employee.”

“We were all cast members. We wore costumes and had roles,” Vetovich said. “Walt Disney’s dream was that every part of Disney be a show, with people coming to a Utopian place where you don’t have to care about anything and everyone is always nice.”

It is this sort of engagement of the employees at the various Disney World attractions that help make it so fun to visit.  Let’s be honest:  if every Disney World worker greeted you with the same disposition that you local Federal Post Office employee did, we would not want to go back as much, nor as often.  And we sure wouldn’t spend our bucks in central Florida!  Instead, we would find a theme park that make our experience delightful.  This article sheds some light on why it’s so fun to go.
